*** EMAIL FROM A MLMROD MEMBER ***

Hello Jarmo,
I called one of the leads from my back office last week, and they said yes to looking at my business.
Now it has been a few days, and I have called and emailed them a few times, and they will not return my calls or emails.

I don’t get it, they seemed to be so interested when we first spoke, what am I doing wrong here?

MY COMMENTS:

Listen to me close on this one, Jean:

Any time a prospect “blows you off” (not return calls, emails, fb, etc), then I can guarantee you two things:

1) It’s not some kind of computer glitch — you said or did something to turn them off.

2) At this point, there’s almost nothing you can do to fix the situation.

Once you come across as “Dispirit” when first meeting a prospect, it’s almost impossible to change their mind.

It’s ALWAYS something that YOU said or did that’s caused it to happen!

That in mind, here’s what I want you to do…

Stop wondering if there’s anything you can do to win them back.

Instead, take this opportunity to take a look at YOURSELF. Why is it you’re acting in ways that are turning prospects off?
Start figuring out how you can STOP getting these kinds of reactions.

I teach that it is a numbers game, it is a disqualifying game, you are the one that needs to be saying no.

Perhaps not literally but in your posture, I see too many people trying to convert prospects and chase them down… not good…
it’s not attractive.

Instead, look for characteristics that you are looking for and also look for disqualifiers, so you can let them go quickly.

Also remember your business may not be attractive to everyone, so don’t take that personally, but I always give people an easy way to respond by email to at least let me know if there is an interest in learning more.

If I get a response, then I did my job, if I am not getting any responses at all, then I know that I need to work on my conversation.

So back to dis-qualifiers…

Example of dis-qualifiers for me: If I leave the “I came across one of your sites and had a quick question” message and someone calls me back or leaves me a voice mail, if they don’t seem to have much energy in their voice, a lot of times I don’t even call them back. I move them to the “colder” list for the next time.

You see, I am looking for high energy (or at least decent energy) people.

It takes energy and discipline to build a business, so if they don’t seem to have that from the start, then I am not going to waste my time.
Another disqualifier for me is if they are negative from the start, then I quickly say “I don’t think this is a good fit… thanks for your time … have a nice day”

Some examples of things I look for:

  1. Energy in their voice (do they speak nice and clear)

  2. Do they use a calendar (if you are setting a follow up appointment, this is easy to figure out)

  3. Positive attitude (listen to the choice of words they use)

These are just a few of the characteristics that I am always looking for.

Put together your list for yourself and post it near your work area so you can see it and be clear of what kind of people you are looking to attract.

Remember you get to choose who you work with, so if you have confidence and know that you have an unlimited way to find people (MLMROD) then you should have no problem in finding the right people for your business.

Also, you must be working on yourself to get better (reading the good books, listening to good speakers, etc). Follow the people who have already done what you are doing and don’t forget to ASK. The biggest problem why people fail is that they never ask, or if they ask, they ask their best mate who, in the worst case, has no idea what you are talking about.

It’s good to keep in mind that it’s all about Emotions and Managing Them.
